The curlers for a perfect style

To some, it may seem old-fashioned, but the use of curlers, so loved by our mothers, is still one of the best methods for a long-lasting and economical brushing to do at home. Here are the tips to get a great result!

First, choose the size of the curler based on the type of fold you want to achieve and the length of your hair :

  • if you have very long hair, beyond the shoulders, opt for wide curlers (otherwise you will never be able to roll the whole hair). The same choice must be made if you want straight and voluminous hair.
  • if you have short hair, use tight curlers. The same choice should be made if you want curls.
  • if you have shoulder-length hair, use medium curlers.

Simplifying, remember that the size of the curl you will get will depend on the size of the curlers you will use: the tighter the curlers are, the tighter and more well-defined the curls will be, the wider the curlers are, the wider and less defined the curls will be.

For the result to be optimal, you need to know how to use them well.
Opt for  self-locking or self-adhesive curlers to use without bobby pins - they are much easier to put on.
If you have chosen to use common curlers, you have two options:

  • on wet or damp hair, if you have straight or slightly frizzy hair.
  • on dry hair, if you have very frizzy hair.

Comb your hair and divide it into sections. Lift each strand and position the curler at the tips (not forgetting the tips, if you don't want to see them go in the opposite direction of the curl).

If, on the other hand, you just want to give a rounded movement to the length, you can put some curlers in this specific area.

In general, we recommend that you put:

  • in the center of the head the large curlers
  • on the sides the slightly narrower ones

If your hair is still damp or wet, let the air dry finish and hold the curlers for at least 3/4 hours.
Once you free your hair you can decide to comb it to get more volume and a slight wavy effect; if, on the other hand, you want to keep the 'defined waves' effect, fix the hairstyle only with a bit of hairspray.

If you don't have much patience, you can put the curlers on dry hair, wetting it just a little with products such as mousse or hairspray. In just 10-15 minutes, you will have the desired movement, knowing however that the effect will not be lasting ...

If, on the other hand, you have thermal curlers available, you can also apply them on dry hair as many times as you want.
